Accounts Receivable Assistant
Job Summary:
An Accounts Receivable Assistant assists in the management of the company’s revenue and participates in its collection efforts. Your main responsibilities will include achieving monthly collections targets through several means including telephone calls, emails, monitoring Aged Receivables, and updating the relevant systems to facilitate the generation of the required reports and management accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and update daily/weekly/monthly Collection Report (Forecast vs. Actual) for assigned accounts
- Daily follow-up of customers’ outstanding balances to categories assigned, and update the extended notes on the customers’ accounts
- Liaise with Category Representatives to coordinate collections
- Liaise with Sales Representatives and customers to resolve customer queries
- Generate daily collection list
- Ensure Aging Reports are printed and supplied to the Sales Representatives each week
- Review Sales Representatives’ receipt books before submission to cashiers
- Review customers’ orders on hold, and advise the status for release
- Deduction of credit card payments for customers in the assigned categories
- Monthly Staff Deduction Report
- Special Arrangement Reports
- Create files for review by the Credit Committee for all loan applications
- Maintain the company’s finance web portal
- Process and data entry
- Generate quarterly interest reports
- Weekly Knock-offs and Shorts/Overs Report and applications
- Monthly Reconciliation for customers in assigned categories
- Assist in other areas based on the needs of the department and any other departments as is necessary in support of the company’s activities
Qualifications:
- Minimum five O’ Levels which must include Mathematics, English, and Principles of Accounts
Experience:
- At least two years’ experience working in a finance department
- Experience in the Accounts Receivable sub-function would be a definite asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with accounting software
- Exceptionally results-oriented with assertive follow-up skills
- Strongly customer service orientated
- Sound communication skills; both verbal and written
- Willingness to collaborate with others
